Jean-Paul Hepp, Ph.D. is guest Instructor for the Codex Alimentarius course. Jean-Paul experienced different aspects of the pharmaceutical industry, from a sales position to a marketing manager function for several Upjohn products. He later joined the headquarters of Pharmacia, first in the UK then in the US, where he architected and led its Corporate Internet Strategy. Early 2000 he became Pharmacia’s and later Pfizer’s Corporate Privacy Officer until 2008 when he joined his spouse to support her successful business in pre-packed freeze dried fruit (healthy snacks). Besides being involved in the different commercial and international aspects of the company, Jean-Paul quickly realized the importance of food quality and of global food laws and regulations. To that end he enrolled in the MSU International Food Laws and Regulations program and was certified in 2010.

His knowledge about different aspects of a highly regulated industry combined with his current hands-on experience of running a small food business will be valuable in helping small and large companies navigating through the complexity of the international of food trade regulations.
